Who can use it?
Everyone who has access to Post Office. No extra setup is needed.
How it works
Upload: Upload the PDF in Post Office (drag and drop), or send it to your Post Office email address.
Recognition: The AI detects that the file contains several documents. The category shows Bundle, and the list says "Needs to be split into separate documents."
Review: Open the document. You will see: "Bundle detected. This file seems to contain multiple documents. Please double-check the split before confirming." All pages are shown as thumbnails, and the suggested documents are separated by dividers.
Adjust if needed:
Click the divider between two pages to add or remove a split.
Use the arrows to move a page.
Rotate a page if the scan is upside down.
Click the bin icon to leave a page out of the new documents.
Use the zoom buttons to change how many pages you see per row.
Confirm: Click Confirm & Split into X document(s).
What happens after the split?
Each part appears in Post Office as its own document.
The AI categorises and names each new document like any other upload (invoice, fine, vehicle document, damage document). You confirm each one as usual.
The original file stays in the list with the status Split. It is kept for reference and can no longer be edited.
Good to know
Only PDF files can be split. JPG, PNG and TIFF files can be uploaded, but not split.
A file is treated as a bundle when its parts belong to different matters, for example different vehicles, contracts or damage cases. A letter with enclosures about the same matter stays one document. If the AI is unsure, it does not suggest a split.
You always check bundles yourself. They cannot be confirmed automatically and are skipped by bulk confirmation.
Documents with the status Ignored or Processed cannot be split.
Check the suggestion before you confirm, especially for long scans.
The AI did not recognise a bundle? Set the category of the document to Bundle yourself. The split view then opens and you can set the splits manually.
Emails: Several separate attachments in one email already arrive as separate documents. The split suggestion is for a single PDF that contains several documents.
