This article describes the contents of the individual learning modules of the electronic driver instruction.

The learning content consists of five modules:

Introduction: The introduction briefly explains the objectives of electronic driver instruction and defines the target group. The procedure for driver instruction is also described.

Legal basics: This module explains the legal obligations of the company and the driver.

Safety even before departure: The content includes teaching drivers how to deal sensibly with alcohol, drugs and medication behind the wheel. In addition, the consequences of violating the law are explained. Instruction and explanation of a vehicle check before departure.

Load securing: The importance of load securing is explained. Duties of the driver to secure the load are explained and concrete tips on how to secure the load safely are passed on to the drivers.

Safe and relaxed on the road

  • Are you distracted? In this module, specific examples of distractions on the road are addressed and concrete best practices for attentive driving on the road are described.

  • Distraction and Attention: stress and resulting fatigue, speeding, and slowed reaction time are risk factors when driving. How to avoid stress, recognize fatigue and counteract it is the content of this chapter. The correct adjustment of the driver's seat to prevent pain and tension, for example, is also explained.

  • Stress-free on the road: This chapter focuses on stopping distance and reaction time when braking. It is explained in detail how the braking distance relates to the speed.

  • Defensive driving: This chapter focuses on the safe distance.

  • Dealing with the weather: The chapter focuses on the dangers and behavior in different weather conditions.

Accidents, breakdowns and offenses

  • Accident, what to do? When should the police be notified? The answer to this question, as well as the correct behavior in the event of an accident and how to safeguard against accidents (e.g. the correct use of the warning triangle at the scene of an accident) are explained.

  • Making the correct emergency call: This chapter describes what information is essential to communicate when making an emergency call.

  • Wildlife accidents and property damage: Obligations and behavior in case of wildlife accidents and property damage are described.

The learning content is tested in a short quiz per module. Learning contents are repeatedly queried in this way. We recommend that the electronic driver training is carried out in one piece if possible.
