The “Custom” Access Level in Detail

The Custom permission level is ideal for employees who do not require full access to Avrios. It ensures that users can work strictly within the areas relevant to their responsibilities — no more and no less.

Default Visible Menu Areas

Users with the Custom access level will always see the following areas:

  • Master Data (Vehicles, Drivers, Fuel Cards, Suppliers)

  • Tasks

Because Master Data and Tasks are core components of Avrios, they cannot be completely separated from the rest of the fleet management system. Therefore, they represent the minimum visible scope within this access level. For both areas, it can be defined whether users:

  • have Read Only access, or

  • are allowed to Edit.

Individually Configurable Areas

In addition, access rights can be configured individually for the following areas:

  • Pools

  • Fine Management

For each area, one of the following permission levels can be assigned:

  • No Access

  • Read Only

  • Can Edit

💡 Note: User permissions are continuously being developed and expanded. Our goal is to make Avrios as open or as restrictive as your organization requires. Additional areas will be added to the customizable permissions over time.

Use Case Example: Managing Pool Vehicles

A typical use case for the Custom access level is managing pool vehicles. This role is ideal for employees who:

  • Coordinate pool bookings

  • Assign vehicles

  • Hand out and collect keys

  • Check vehicle availability

At the same time, these users usually do not need full access to the entire fleet management system.

Typical Permission Configuration

For this scenario, the following configuration is recommended:

  • Pools: Can Edit

  • Master Data & Tasks: Read Only

  • All other areas: No Access

This allows employees to carry out all operational tasks related to pool vehicles without being able to modify master data or access unrelated areas.

Comparison: “Custom” vs. “Read & Write”

Compared to the Read & Write permission level, access with Custom is clearly restricted:

Custom (without Master Data editing)

Read & Write

While Read & Write provides broad access to fleet management functions, Custom allows targeted access to specific areas — aligned with the user’s role within the organization.
