What happens if you set up your driving licence check and have selected the old "paper licence without hologram"?

As soon as you have clicked on the "paper licence without hologram", your fleet manager (an Avrios user) will receive a message (see picture as an example).

As you have an old "paper license", you will need a hologram sticker. The reason for this is quite simple: in order to become legally compliant, your fleet manager must be 100% sure that your photo of the driving licence is an original and not a copy. With new driving licences (credit card format) the hologram is already included. Unfortunately, this is not the case with old paper driving licences. Therefore, you have to stick on a hologram sticker, which we at Avrios have sent to your fleet manager. He will forward one to you.

Simply place the hologram sticker on the paper driving licences - the only legal requirement is that no information must be obscured by it.

Once the sticker is applied, contact your fleet manager and they will then click on "Hologram Sticker" in Avrios itself and you will receive an email/SMS from us and can continue the licence check and photograph your licence. After that you have done everything. Super.

From a legal point of view, you can apply the hologram sticker to your paper driving licence without any hesitation. Even the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs considers the application of a seal to be unobjectionable. Read more here.
